Description
Of the 5.2 million sheep in the United States, 923,000 are located in Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. The West Central States Wool Growers Convention brings together sheep producers, industry leaders, and supporters from across the western states. This year’s convention is October 31 – November 2, 2024, at the Riverside Hotel in Boise, Idaho. The convention not only commemorates over a century of sheep production in the west but also honors the legacy and lasting impact sheep have had. The sheep industry is a cornerstone of the West’s history and agriculture, predating Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and Nevada’s statehood.
The West Central States Wool Growers Convention is dedicated to providing cutting-edge, high-quality information for attendees in an effort to improve lamb and sheep production in the west. The theme for this year’s event is “American Lamb: Building Prosperity and Growing the Future” with speakers encompassing export lamb markets, insurance program opportunities, import policies, animal health tools, new market opportunities, and more.
